Before we get started, I'd like to bring up a quick programming note. I won't be able to write the next couple of previews. I don't know who will write the preview for tomorrow's game against OKC, but Darren has been kind enough to step in for Tuesday's preview against Atlanta. I'm looking forward to reading those previews.
How many ways can we say "One step forward, one step back" this season? Houston continues to find ways to disappoint its fanbase by losing games it's expected to win. While there have been bright spots this season and signature wins, there have been far too many inconsistencies to gloss over.
Tonight, Houston takes on a team that is expected to be inconsistent. The Wolves are young and it shows. Last week they took down the Oklahoma City Thunder in OKC. They followed up that incredible win with a loss in Phoenix and then barely knocked off the decimated Memphis Grizzlies. Of course, young teams always have trouble on the road and that's exactly what's happening here.
The Rockets, on the other hand, are nto young. But they're playing like it.
The Rockets continue to be handed gifts. Portland has cooled off. Dallas can't stop losing. Memphis has zero healthy starters. However, the Utah Jazz are on a 4-game winning streak and now sit just 1 game out of the playoff picture. You wanna make the playoffs? You have to beat teams like Minnesota.
Tip-off is at 7pm Houston time.
