Houston Rockets vs. Chicago Bulls game preview

The Rockets start a 5-game Eastern Conference road trip tonight in Chicago

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

The Rockets begin what will likely be a season-defining road trip today. Houston plays Chicago, Toronto, Philadelphia, Boston, and Charlotte in the period of a week.

Only the Philadelphia game looks like a guaranteed win, but I hesitate to say that given Houston's struggles with the 76ers. The other four teams are either in the playoff picture or trying to move up in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Bulls are dealing with injuries all over the place. According to ESPN staff writer Nick Friedell, here's what the Bulls are dealing with today.

Bulls announce injury updates for Saturday's game against the Houston Rockets. Jimmy Butler is questionable because of a left knee strain. Nikola Mirotic is doubtful as he recovers from issues related to an appendectomy. Taj Gibson is questionable because of a right hamstring injury. Derrick Rose is probable as he continues to recover from right hamstring tendinitis.

If Butler misses the game, Houston should be favored to win it. If any of the others miss the game in addition, the Rockets will have no excuse. But with the game on national television, look for both teams to come out swinging.

Tip-off is at 7:30pm CST on ABC.
