Dwight Howard wanted to do something nice for sideline reporter Craig Sager who is currently battling acute myeloid leukemia at M.D. Anderson in Houston.

"I know a lot of people deal with different types of cancers and leukemia," Howard said. "Craig is a close friend of mine and our family. He's a part of the NBA family. You hate to see anybody who is a part of you go through anything. I just want to do whatever I can to help."

The drive will take place on Wednesday (tomorrow) the Toyota Center from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Howard's foundation is hosting in conjunction with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.

The Gulf Coast Marrow Donor Program will also be on-hand, giving people the option to register as bone marrow donors in the Be The Match program. Bone marrow is used to treat some types of leukemia.
