Rockets need to win out starting tonight against Phoenix

Houston needs to start a four-game win streak tonight to even think about the post season, but do we even care?

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

The Rockets head back home to the Toyota Center tonight to take on the 20-58 Phoenix Suns one night after having their playoff hopes severely damaged in a loss against the Dallas Mavericks that has all of us questioning the way forward for this franchise.

The Rockets likely need to win all four of their remaining games to even think about the postseason, and they haven't won four in row since back in early January. But even if they do manage to squeak in, it'll likely be a virtual death-sentence against the Warriors or the Spurs. The season is, for all intents and purposes, basically over. Which actually feels a bit relieving.

Anyway, Donatas Motiejunas will be back in the starting lineup after not seeing a minute against Dallas, so it looks like the short-lived K.J. McDaniels-as-a-starter experiment is over.

As always, make sure to check out AK's preview if you haven't already, and rejoice in the fact that the season from hell is soon coming to a close.
