After last night’s thrilling victory, the Good Guys are back at it again tonight with a tune-up with the young, vibrant Sacramento Kings.
Houston is looking to build off of a win as Sacramento is looking to start off the season on the right track, but as AK mentioned in his preview, this is a rebuilding team, and tonight we will see the Sacramento debut of the league’s oldest player in Vince Carter and the debut of one of the exciting, youngest players: Houston native De’Aaron Fox.
Another exciting veteran the Kings acquired is Rockets killer Zach Randolph, but Z-Bo will have to wait to make his Sacramento debut as he is out tonight after undergoing oral surgery. Former EuroLeague sensation Bogdan Bogdanovic will also be out of tonight’s game with an ankle sprain.
It’s a team mixed with young and old and it’s not a team on the Rockets level, and it’s been like that for the last few seasons. Houston has won 12 of the last 13 meetings coming into tonight, but alas, this is a new season.
Houston could be exhausted from last night playing against a well-rested Kings squad. Chris Paul’s lingering ankle injury could be cause for concern, and he is questionable for tonight’s game. I would imagine Eric Gordon would take his place in the starting lineup if he were to sit tonight. All other Rockets are healthy and active.
UPDATE: Chris Paul will not play tonight. Eric Gordon to start.
Update: Coach D’Antoni says Chris Paul (knee contusion) will not play tonight in Sacramento. Eric Gordon will start in his place. pic.twitter.com/U1VV8M76qB

If the shots fall and the Rockets can carry the momentum from last night, Houston should take care of business, but there’s a reason why you play the game. Enjoy the game and go Rockets!
