Jazz SBNation Blog: SLC Dunk

The Rockets have taken the first two meetings from the Jazz and are looking for their third straight win against the Jazz tonight. A win tonight would mark 14 consecutive wins as a team and be a very impressive mark.

The Rockets get Clint Capela back tonight, which will be a huge boost for the team. Unfortunately for Utah, their starting bigs will not play as Rudy Gobert and Derrick Favors are both injured.

Look for the Rockets to take advantage, but I’m really excited to see Donovan Mitchell get another crack at Houston. He had 26 points in their meeting earlier this month and is shaping up to be Utah’s best player. He’ll have his hands full tonight as he tries to match James Harden, but it’ll be fun to watch.

The Rockets will play without Nene (rest) and Luc Mbah a Moute (shoulder). Look for Tarik Black to get some more minutes. He looked really good in the fourth quarter against the Bucks, but with the Jazz’s centers out, Houston will likely opt for smaller lineups with P.J. Tucker and Ryan Anderson getting the backup center minutes.

Tonight is Day 49 since the Rockets haven’t lost a game. Hopefully they don’t stop tonight in front of the home fans.

Check out AK’s preview and enjoy the game!
