Sorry in advance for the short preview. You already know the Rockets are good. At this point, any loss would be an “upset.”
Tonight, the Rockets take on the Los Angeles Lakers for the second time this season. Interestingly enough, right before playing the Rockets on both occasions the Lakers have taken the Golden State Warriors to overtime.
That should warn the Rockets as to the talent of their opponents. Remember, the Warriors get everyone’s best shot, especially at home. Any team with a long winning streak also gets that intensity, as every team they face wants to be the squad to end the streak.
As you probably know, the Lakers have a lot of solid young pieces. A couple of them have the potential to turn into stars, but because of the prevalence of rookie sensations they have been labeled as busts or at least looked down upon because they didn’t become stars on day 1. Lots of players aren’t stars on day 1. The Lakers need to give their guys time, and it seems like that’s what they’re doing.
For Houston, I’d like to see Ryan Anderson have a good game. After starting the season with some great defense and hot shooting off Chris Paul passes, Ryno has shown flashes of Playoff Ryno, which isn’t something Rockets fans want to see.
Tip-off is at 7pm CT on NBA TV
