I’m so disgusted by the loss to the Boston Celtics that I’m barely able to type coherently. But for you, I will try. I’ll always try.
The Rockets are broken, but not beyond repair. We know how to fix Houston: health. Without Chris Paul, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, and Clint Capela, the Rockets are a shell of their previous selves.
My guess is that Mike D’Antoni wanted to keep Paul on the shelf for both of these games, but the collapse against the Celtics might force his hand. The Rockets are in a bit of a spiral and just look lost. The offense has no flow and the defense comes and goes. James Harden is having PTSD flashbacks to Game 6 of the Western Conference semi-finals during crunch time. This is why Houston brought in Paul: to take the pressure off James and settle the offense in times of crisis.
Again, apologies for the brief preview. I’m barely holding onto my sanity. Luckily, the NBA throws you another game to take your mind off a previous collapse.
Prediction: It’s a back-to-back. Against a rested Washington team. I expect Houston to fall behind early but start to show flashes in a failed comeback attempt.
Tip-off is at 6pm CT on NBA TV
