Gerald Green is happy to be a Houston Rocket

Green decided to show his Rockets team spirit.

Gerald Green is a Houston, Texas, native, so it is only natural that he’d be excited to play for his hometown team. Though this is technically his second stint with the Rockets — Green had a short stint with the team back in the 2007-2008 season — he’s already played more games with the team than he did in that first go-around.

Well, Green just showed exactly how happy he is to be a Rocket by getting his hair braided into the Rockets logo.

Y’all know I had too! @sandrasbraids

Green’s hairdo reminds me of another full-of-spirit Houston Rocket, when Ron Artest shaved a Rockets logo into the side of his hair back in 2009 for their second-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers.

For his part, Green is off to a decent start so far with the Rockets. Due the myriad of team injuries and struggles, he’s already seen some time off the bench, going for 18 points on 6-10 shooting in 27 minutes of action in the Rockets’ loss to the Washington Wizards.

Expect him to continue to get opportunity as long as Luc Mbah a Moute is out, and build a chance to even get some action as a get-hot-fast bench scorer when Mbah a Moute returns.

We’re happy to have you too, Gerald!
