The Rockets are at home tonight for a match up with the 20-33 Orlando Magic in what is, to me, a “prove-it” game. Houston is coming off of its first three-game break of the season and had a chance to not only rest their legs, but also get in some much-needed practice time.
With both reasons no longer a viable excuse for their current uneven play, I want to see the Rockets come out and take it to an inferior Magic squad and look more like the team we saw play in December than the one we’ve been watching since Mid-January.
The Magic will be without forward Jeff Green, who will miss the game for the birth of his first child.
The Rockets also have some added motivation tonight, and that is it’s Hakeem Olajuwon night at the Toyota Center, where the organization honors the finest player to have graced the Houston hardwood. And they just so happen to be playing the team Olajuwon and the Rockets defeated for their second consecutive NBA championship in 1995. I’m pulling for a dynamite performance tonight.
