Rockets vs. Hornets game thread: Clear eyes, no depth, can’t lose?

The Rockets will be short-handed in Charlotte.

NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder at Houston Rockets Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

The Rockets won’t have Eric Gordon or Nene, two of their most consistent bench guys all season, against the Charlotte Hornets tonight for their game.

Based on Mike D’Antoni’s rotations, that means we should expect heavy doses of Patrick Beverley, Corey Brewer and Montrezl Harrell to fill in the gaps. So... that could go either way.

What we also know is that the Rockets are well-rested, and it finally showed in their play Tuesday night against the Magic. James Harden has had some unreal stat lines, and he’ll need another one tonight if the Rockets want to get their third win in a row. He’ll also need at least two of Ryan Anderson, Trevor Ariza, Patrick Beverley and Sam Dekker to get hot from outside. Call it The Formula.

Early tip tonight: 6 p.m. CT.
