Short and sweet preview since there’s still March Madness going on and it’s Saturday.
The Rockets are in for a real test tonight. The Denver Nuggets at times seem to be the only team that really wants the 8 seed in the West. Portland shows flashes of wanting to make a push, but then they turn around a lose a game to an inferior team and they fall back in the standings.
The Nuggets have handed the keys to their talisman of point center in Nikola Jokic. So far, he’s rewarded them with sterling play. He’s averaging 18/12/6 since January and has five triple-doubles in that time period. His passing is sublime and positively smaragdine.
The Nuggets will be missing Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari tonight. Meanwhile, the Rockets will get Nene back. After a disappointing loss last night, you can expect the Rockets to push for this win. But in Denver on a back-to-back, the odds are not in their favor.
Tip-off is at 8:30pm CT.
