Game thread: Rockets vs. Timberwolves

The Rockets wrap up the regular season tonight against Minnesota.

NBA: Minnesota Timberwolves at Houston Rockets Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

The Rockets are at home tonight for the final game of the regular season. There’s nothing to play for -- the Rockets are cemented into the third seed and a first-round match up with Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Rockets will run out their regular rotation for at least some of the game, according to head coach Mike D’Antoni. Using the first half as a sort of dress rehearsal for Game One.

In the meantime, check out this cool piece about the MVP race. It’s well-researched, and it comes to the correct conclusion.

Also worth checking out is the absolute backlash on that Twitter feed. The triple double zombies are out in full force, and they appear ready to torch the place if their boy loses, which is a shame. Because even if James Harden does win it, he’ll never get the credit he deserves. But make no mistake, the Beard does deserve it, and it’s not even all that particularly close, in my opinion.

Anyway, it’s good to see some level-headed analysis still out there. Anything to drown out the endless, undead droning of “Triiiiippppppllle dooouuubbblllleee.”
