Game thread: Rockets vs. Thunder - Game One

Well, that time has finally arrived. It’s Game One of the Western Conference first-round playoff series between the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder, and one of two things is about to happen.

Either James Harden and the Rockets are about to reaffirm everything we’ve been saying here at TDS about the MVP race and the difference between the Beard and Russell Westbrook and the Rockets and the Thunder, or OKC will finally figure out that it’s team play that actually wins basketball games when they matter, and they’ll give the Rockets a run for their money.

I’m no longer a betting man (a wife and two kids will do that to you), but if I were, I’d be wagering strongly on the former.

I have the Rockets in this series in five games, and I think they come out and hold court at home in emphatic fashion. I’ll also be looking for some vintage Beard tonight; getting his teammates involved early and taking over late.
