Game thread: Rockets vs. Suns

The Rockets are shorthanded in trying to avoid their fourth loss in a row.

NBA: Phoenix Suns at Houston Rockets Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Rockets look to get back on track tonight and break a three-game losing streak against the worst team in the Western Conference, the Phoenix Suns. With the Utah Jazz on their heels for the third seed in the postseason, the Rockets will be forced to get it done minus three regular starters. Ryan Anderson remains out with a sprained ankle, Trevor Ariza will miss tonight due to a death in the family, and James Harden will also finally sit with what’s being called “acute viral syndrome”.

The Rockets have a magic number of two for the three seed, so a big win tonight with a roster cut in half would be huge for Houston. It’s expected that Troy Williams, Isaiah Taylor and Kyle Wiltjer will all play significant minutes tonight (Williams is starting), so let’s hope they are up to the task.

I have no idea what happens in this game.
