Volatility, tenacity and just generally being an absolute all-around pain-in-the-ass for opposing teams has delivered Patrick Beverley to the promised land, the 2017 All-Defensive First Team.

Mr. 94 Feet is the first Houston Rocket to make the All-Defensive First Team since 1999 when Scottie Pippen (for real) was named to the first team. Beverley was named to the 2013 - 2014 All-Defensive Second Team.

The first team placement is the culmination of years of Beverley grit and chicanery, but the train was finally brought in to the station by the Rockets turnaround from 41 win 8th seed to 55 win 3rd seed this year.

Trevor Ariza also received two second team votes while Eric Gordon received one first team vote and one second team vote.

Needless to say, this selection is legal with eagle.
