According to an unusual Ticketmaster leak, which unveiled the Clippers’ home schedule, the Rockets will face the Clippers at Staples Center twice this season, the first being on MLK Day at 9:30 CT, which will likely be the final game in a slate of nationally televised games on Monday, January 15.
Lucas Hann uncovered the leak over at SB Nation’s Clips Nation blog.
This will likely be the first time the Rockets and the Clippers will face each other in the upcoming season, as the NBA will likely push the narrative of Chris Paul returning home on one of the league’s most anticipated days on the schedule.
MLK Day 2017 saw the Cavaliers return to Golden State to take on the Warriors for the first time since they won the championship back in 2016.
There is the chance that this won’t be the first time the Clips and Rockets will face each other this season as we are still unsure of the team’s home schedule. However, we can add this game to the Oct. 17 season opener at Golden State and the Christmas Day skirmish at Oklahoma City to the schedule.
According to the leak, the Rockets will also visit the Clippers on Wednesday, February 28.
We now know four of the eighty-two games on the schedule. The seventy-eight other games will be revealed tonight at 5 CT on NBA.com, NBA TV, and the NBA app.
