Banana Boats in Houston

The Rockets got Chris Paul in what feels like seasons ago and the talk has been around getting Carmelo Anthony to Houston via trade or a buyout. Now, we hear two things that make it seem like the inevitable "Banana Boat" squad could be headed to the City of Purple Sprite.

(1) Dwyane Wade is reported to reach a buyout with the Bulls over the next few months. Now months could mean he's bought out right before the season begins and makes a debut opening night exactly two months from the day that I type this sentence or it could be in the winter when we're all watching Alabama in the CFP Championship game. Regardless, Wade gets bought out and depending on the landscape of the NBA, could be in a Rockets uniform along with Chris Paul, James Harden, and Carmelo Anthony.

(2) LeBron is reportedly leaving Cleveland this season (I actually had a theory that the Banana Boat team would assemble in Cleveland before this news broke) and everyone wants to suggest he's going to play in Los Angeles with Lonzo Ball. However, let's not forget that LeBron already got defensive when Lavar Ball made negative comments about LeBron's son. LeBron has also shown (depending on which Twitter accounts you believe) that he is one to hold a grudge as his feud with Dan Gilbert is impacted in part by Gilbert's decision to donate to Donald Trump. Add to the equation that under point one, Wade, Carmelo, and Paul could already be in Houston along with some guy that finished 2nd in the MVP race. Houston becomes a viable option.

Are these long winded, run-on sentences for me to think about at night or are they actual things that could happen? Either way, we'll find out before the Knicks win their next playoff game.
