According to ESPN’s Tim McMahon, James Harden will make his return to the court tomorrow night against the Timberwolves.
Sources: Plan is for James Harden to play Thursday vs. Timberwolves, barring a setback in today's practice. Rockets went 4-3 without MVP frontrunner. https://t.co/lpr1z1pkvO— Tim MacMahon (@espn_macmahon) January 17, 2018
Without the Beard in the lineup, the Rockets went 4-3 and have certainly missed his presence on the court. Harden was ruled out for two-to-four weeks after a Grade 2 hamstring strain he sustained New Year’s Eve, when the Rockets defeated the Lakers in double overtime. There is concern that he may be rushing his return, so his minutes could possibly be monitored as he eases back into the rotation. However, any minutes with Harden out there are better than none.
Harden’s absence from the lineup has been the longest of his career, and he looks eager to get back on the court. His energy is better spent there than it is roaming the tunnels of Staples Center.
With Luc Mbah a Moute and Tarik Black returning Monday, and Nene’s return also looming, this team will be the healthiest it has been since it peeled off 14 straight wins in November and December.
Let’s hope the Beard can resume his MVP campaign and get the Rockets back on track.
