Game thread: Rockets vs. Mavericks

New, comments

The Rockets are looking for their fourth win in a row tonight.

NBA: Dallas Mavericks at Houston Rockets Erik Williams-USA TODAY Sports

The Rockets take their three-game win streak on the road to Dallas to take on the cross-state rival Mavericks. Dallas also happens to have one of the worst records in the league at 16-31, but as we all know, no game is really a gimme.

In this week’s 5-on-5, several of us picked the Rockets to drop a game in the next week, and tonight’s contest was cited as one of the potential slip ups. Should the Rockets lose this game? No way. Can they? Absolutely.

My head tells me that the Rockets are currently playing too well for a slip up. That and the fact they are fully healthy says Houston should cruise, even on the road. But I can’t shake the feeling that the Rockets do have a brain fart in them this week.

Let’s hope I’m wrong and James Harden, Chris Paul, and Clint Capela continue their perfect play together. It would be a total shame for the duo to suffer their first defeat on the court together to the Mavs.

One point of note: I’d like to see a little Gerald Green tonight and if Mike D’Antoni can make good on his promise of a 10-man rotation.

Go Rockets!
