The Houston Rockets made a series of moves today designed to get them close to finalizing their regular season roster.

According to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, the Rockets waived forward Bruno Caboclo, guard Brandon Sampson, guard Angel Rodriguez, and forward Tim Bolt. This was after already waiving guard Rob Gray earlier in the week.

In addition to those moves, they also will be signing forwards Gary Clark and Vincent Edwards to two-way contracts. According the Feigen, those deals are not yet official but will be completed in the coming days.

The two-way deals stipulate that Clark and Edwards can spend 45 days on the Houston roster, not including travel time. The rest of the days must be spent with the Rockets’ G-League affiliate in Rio Grande Valley. Either deal can be converted to a regular NBA contract at any time, though Feigen speculates that the Rockets will likely keep both on a two-way in order to keep the team’s 15th and final roster spot open for flexibility.

Clark, in particular, was a nice surprise in the preseason, hitting 10 of 18 three-pointers in Houston’s five games, and he also showed some nice defense, blocking 5 shots. Head coach Mike D’Antoni has been very open with praise for Clark’s play.

These moves have Houston down to 14 players, with the remaining names on the roster, in alphabetical order:

  • Carmelo Anthony
  • Clint Capela
  • Michael Carter-Williams
  • Marquese Chriss
  • James Ennis
  • Eric Gordon
  • Gerald Green
  • James Harden
  • Isaiah Hartenstein
  • Brandon Knight
  • Nene
  • Chris Paul
  • Zhou Qi
