The Houston Rockets are finally playing basketball against an opposing NBA team.

The very first game thread of the the Rockets season. The Houston Rockets versus the Memphis Grizzlies. Isn’t that nice?

Well, it’s not the first game of the actual season. But that doesn’t mean that it’s not important.

We finally get to see Carmelo Anthony in action with the team. We get to see what all that James Ennis has to offer. What does Mike D’Antoni have in store for the rest of the new guys? Oh, and did I mention that we get to see actual basketball getting played?

Yup, we’ve finally made it. That is, until you get tired of this, and you’re ready for basketball that actually matters.

Before we cross that road, just think about what this game means to you and to the team. What do you expect from Melo? Is there anything that he can do so badly in game one of the preseason that you’re ready to panic? Is there anything that anyone can do in this game that you’re ready to throw the entire season away? Or are you going to keep a level head and just know that the preseason is all about experimenting and knocking the rust off?

If you choose the be the former, please at least be entertaining about.

Before I forget, in team news that matters, Anthony will most likely get the start in place of the injured P.J. Tucker, so don’t read too much into that.

Enjoy! We’re back!
