We know that the Rockets will be without Chris Paul for two games. The Los Angeles Lakers will be without Rajon Rondo for three games, and Brandon Ingram for four games. Apparently spitting in someone’s face is an additional game. Jumping into a melee and throwing a sucker punch is two games. It’s good to know how these things work in the Adam Silver Age.
Anyhow, the Rockets play the Clippers who are basically without any players from Lob City. Chris Paul is a Rocket. Blake Griffin is a Piston. DAndre Jordan is a Maverick. JJ Reddick is a podcaster and media figure for reasons that thus far are difficult to pin down. Austin Rivers remains Austin Rivers, a burden he will bear for the rest of his life. Doc Rivers is still the coach, I guess.
So, back to back, a return to Staples in its lesser form as Home Of The Clippers.
We’ll see some former Rockets, who will no doubt be angry in the form of Patrick Beverley and Montrezl Harrell.
I have no idea how this game will go. Lethargic, slow, non-defending Rockets? Fired up Rockets who held Lebron James’ Lakers to 18 points in the 4th after the fracas? Who knows?
