It’s been a difficult start for the Houston Rockets, beginning the season with a 1-3 record and looking nothing like the team that blitzed the league for 65 victories last season. And with the team looking a bit disjointed, GM Daryl Morey has renewed his pursuit of a trade target we’d been reading rumors about all summer:
Story posting soon: The Houston Rockets are making a renewed bid to acquire Minnesota All-Star Jimmy Butler, including four future first-round draft picks in their most recent trade offer, league sources tell ESPN.

That sure is a hefty price to pay, and it’s one that likely also includes Eric Gordon and maybe also some of the Rockets’ young talent. If there ever was a clue that team management believes the time is now (and by “now”, we mean right now) for these Rockets, this is certainly it.
Four future first-round picks would absolutely cripple the team in the draft in the coming years, so team management would truly have to believe that Jimmy Butler is the answer.
Woj will have more coming later on the situation.
What say you? Is Butler worth that premium price? Or is that too much to give up?
