I’m not really sure what to say about this game.
It’s really cool that the Rockets play the Shanghai Sharks, Yao Ming’s old team. For a preseason game, it should allow the Rockets to race out to an early lead and give the fringe players a chance to show their stuff.
In the end though, this isn’t really a game that Mike D’Antoni and Daryl Morey can draw from in their decisions on filling out the roster. Even if Marquese Chriss drops 40, it’s not going to move the needle.
Tonight marks Houston’s last home game of the preseason. They’ll head to Memphis for the final game on Friday. That’s when we’ll start to get a better idea of whom D’Antoni wants to keep around.
I’m not sure how the injury report looks for Houston, but I do believe that Jimmer Fredette and Luis Scola are on the team. So there’s that.
Tip-off is at 7pm CT
