If I would have told you this off season that when the Rockets met the Kings 14 games into their season that they’d be a game back of Sacramento in the standings, you probably would have thought something really good- like the Kings having only one loss- or something really bad- like the Rockets having only one win.
In this case, it’s probably more neutral than anything.
The Kings started off the season really hot, and now they’ve cooled down to a solid 8-7 record. The Rockets started really poorly, but they’re trending upwards at 7-7 and are on a three-game winning streak.
Despite the fact that the Rockets have beaten the Pacers, Nuggets, and Warriors in three straight match ups, this feels like it’s probably the most important game of them all. Houston can show that their wins are not fluky and beat down on a team that they’re supposed to beat down. If they lose, it might be indicative of a potential season of being in limbo, battling to get above .500.
Either way, it’s a big game, and it could propel Houston to a winning record for the first time this season.
