Rockets vs. Mavericks - game thread

Houston looks to avoid its second four-game losing streak this season in a big game against Dallas.

It wasn’t long ago when the Rockets started the season 1-5, on a four-game losing streak, and the world was crumbling. Then, they bounced back in a big way. Houston won 8 of its next 10 games, blew out opponents, and played real Rockets ball.

Now, they’re facing losing four straight- again. It would be easy to say, “this team is weird,” but that’s not accurate. They had made lineup adjustments, shots started falling, and, most importantly, they were healthy. It’s not a coincidence that the Rockets have lost two straight without Chris Paul. They’re simply not deep enough to play without any one of their starters. Or backups. Or anyone, really.

Unfortunately, Chris Paul is still listed as questionable and most likely out for tonight’s game. On the plus side, James Harden has been on a tear, dropping 40 and 13 then 50 and 13 in the past two games. Eric Gordon officially(?) broke out of his shooting slump, dropping 28 and 36 points in each of the past respective games, shooting a fantastic 13-of-27 from three.

With all of the games this losing streak coming down to the wire, the Rockets just need one more player to step up to get a W. Who will it have to be tonight?
