According to Shams Charania, Rockets guard Brandon Knight appears to be closer to a return to the floor as he will go on a rehab assignment tonight with the Rockets’ G-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

The Vipers play tonight at home against the Utah Jazz-affiliated Salt Lake City Stars, marking Knight’s first competitive basketball game since February 2017 after a slew of injuries have wiped him away from action.
However, according to the Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan Feigen, he said that he appears to be ahead of his rehab plans and could return next month on his recent appearance on Harden My Take.
A return from Knight would help Houston’s depth tremendously as the team has been bit by the injury bug again in recent weeks with the loss of Chris Paul and Gerald Green in the lineup. A return might come from the pair tonight, but having a veteran inch closer to being able to play is a good sign that this Rockets team is trending upward and heading in the right direction.
