The Rockets and Grizzlies are only separated by 2.5 games in the Western Conference standings, but the two teams appear to be light years apart in a sense.

The Grizzlies have been one of the league’s most pleasant surprises, coming from a bottom-five team a year ago to one of the teams in the thick of things in the muddy Western Conference.

Meanwhile, the Rockets have been one of the league’s most unpleasant surprises, having already racked up 14 losses before mid-December after losing just 17 games a year ago. But the Rockets appear to be on their way back, winning their previous two games in impressive fashion. Their win against the Lakers on Thursday was some of the best basketball we have seen from the Rockets this season.

Can they keep it up tonight? We’ll have to wait and see.
