DISCLAIMER/CREDIT - I stole this idea from Dave Deckard (@davedeckard) at Blazers Edge. All credit, kudos and whatever massive proceeds are generated that I control, to him.
Talent borrows, genius steals, maybe, but that definitely doesn’t make the internet a bunch of geniuses.
It’s the day after Christmas. The turkey or ham is eaten, the carols no longer play, the wrapping is torn off, and that one cool toy is broken already and you’re feeling a bit seedy, to be honest.
The Rockets did win on Christmas, and they did it by coming back against a Thunder team, that, though it pains me to say, is actually good. Not that interesting, but good. Paul George has come out of his shell from last year, they’re athletic and rangy. Billy Donovan has, at last, recreated his Florida teams. I don’t think they have enough shooting to win anything major, but defeating them will be difficult for anyone. So a good win for the Rockets.
In the wreckage around the tree you notice a few things that maybe, just maybe, don’t work for the Rockets. There are a few players that just don’t look the way you’d hoped when you ordered them.
Now is your chance to return them to The NBA Store. You get a full refund on salary (and let’s say something like a trade exception), but not a player. Any replacement is GLeague level. If you want to be elaborate you can explain who gets traded into whatever cap space is created.
The player must be from this year’s roster. We are not re-litigating Rockets history. No Ryan Anderson deal, Kelvin Cato or Charles Barkley, or whomever.
