Pelicans SBNation Blog: The Bird Writes
On Opening Night, the Rockets were seen as one of the top teams in the league, one of the few with a chance to dethrone the Warriors and prevent them from winning a third straight championship, and then all of that was thrown away when the Pelicans demolished the Rockets by 19 points on the Rockets’ home floor.
Since then, the Rockets have gone 19-14 while the Pelicans have gone 15-20.
Tonight, the Rockets look to even the score while the Pelicans look to snatch a 2-0 record on a rare home-and-home back-to-back.
Last night, the Pelicans stormed back from a double-digit deficit to beat the Mavericks at home by a score of 114-112. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Pels, but now the team looks to form a winning streak tonight with the Rockets in town.
Meanwhile, the Rockets are looking to extend their winning streak. Tonight would make four straight and nine of their last 10.
