Houston Rockets vs. Brooklyn Nets game preview

NBA: Brooklyn Nets at Houston Rockets Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Rockets are looking to extend a four-game winning streak tonight when they head to the Barclays Center to take on the Brooklyn Nets.

The Nets are one of the most followed teams in the NBA, and that’s not just because of Jeremy Lin. Over the last couple of years, they have been followed because of their draft pick. Or rather, how their spot in the lottery could shift the dynamics of the NBA.

However, that ignores the fact that the Nets are, you know, an actual basketball team with feelings and pride. Brooklyn has no reason to tank, so you know they’re pushing for every win and giving their young guys a chance to prove themselves. In the last meeting between these teams, the Rockets got out to a 43-26 lead after the first quarter but never really put the Nets away. Mostly, they held the Nets at bay and the game just kind of ended.

Cool fact: Spencer Dinwiddie has the fifth-most assists this season. James Harden is third despite missing seven games.

The Nets are on the last game of a 4-game home stand. They won the first game against the Sixers, then dropped contests to the Lakers and Bucks. They’ll be looking to cook some bacon pancakes on the Rockets.

Tip-off is at 6:30pm CT
