Mike D’Antoni wins Western Conference Coach of the Month

Mike D’Antoni has won the Western Conference of the Month award for February. This is the second time Coach D’Antoni has won the award this season.

It was hard for the NBA to give the award to anyone other than D’Antoni, who led the Rockets to a 12-0 perfect record throughout the month. He also won the award in November, where the team was also in the midst of a 14-game winning streak.

The Rockets became the fifth team in NBA history last night to amass two 14-game winning streaks in a single season and D’Antoni is the first coach to accomplish this feat twice, as he did the same with the Phoenix Suns back in 2006-07.

With two monthly awards this season, Coach D’Antoni is looking to repeat as NBA Coach of the Year.
