Game thread: Rockets vs. Clippers

The Rockets are back on national TV against one of their rivals tonight.

NBA: Houston Rockets at Los Angeles Clippers Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Rockets are taking on the Los Angeles Clippers tonight at the Toyota Center, where the Rockets will be looking for their third win in a row.

Houston has won 9 out of their last 10 contests, and the Clippers have been playing well of late too, as they’ve won 7 of their last 10 and are slugging it out with about eight other teams for seeding in the West.

The Rockets are still down Ryan Anderson and Brandan Wright, while a report earlier that center Clint Capela would also be out tonight turned out to be erroneous. Capela is officially listed as probable.

The Rockets also have a chance to win their division tonight should they defeat the Clips and should the New Orleans Pelicans lose to the San Antonio Spurs, which would be another great accomplishment on this banner season so far.

They’ll also be looking to tie the season series with L.A. The Rockets lost the first two games against the Clippers this season, while taking the third game back in February. I expect them to take care of business again tonight.

The game is nationally televised on NBATV and this is, of course, sort of a rivalry game for the Rockets in light of the locker room incident earlier this season and the plethora of ex-Rockets currently on the Clippers roster.

Go Rockets!
