Rosas is a former NBA GM as he spent three months as the general manager of the Mavericks before resigning and coming back to Houston. Rosas has been a part of the Rockets organization for 17 years and has spent the last five in his current position as Executive VP of Basketball Operations. He is also USA Basketball’s player personnel scout.
Rosas is highly respected around the league and is regarded as Daryl Morey’s right hand man, much like Morey was Danny Ainge’s right hand man when he was in Boston. He has been a candidate of many GM openings, most recently in 2016 when the Nets were in the market for a new GM.
This is no surprise in the front office world that Rosas is a candidate for the job and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he is the GM in Charlotte next season.
