Thunder SBNation Blog: Welcome to Loud City
Tonight is a big game. More so for the visiting team, but the Rockets have a chance to play spoiler.
Oklahoma City is visiting Houston tonight, where they must win to stay in the playoff picture. A loss tonight will see the Thunder plunge from 7th to 9th and have the Nuggets, who beat the Clippers this afternoon, bump up into the 8th spot.
The Thunder won’t see Eric Gordon or Ryan Anderson on the other side of the court tonight, but this is the final chance the Rockets will have to play a playoff-caliber team before the playoffs, so don’t expect the Rockets to fade away tonight.
The Rockets also need to bounce back from their lackluster 4th quarter performance Thursday night. The Rockets scored a season-low 12 points in the fourth but got the win thanks to jumping out to a 24-point lead in the first half. The Rockets’ biggest weakness is squandering away big leads, and the team will get to prove that they don’t do that all the time.
It’s also a game against one of their biggest rivals, so expect the Rockets to be in tune with this game tonight.
