The Rockets heard many players called in TNT’s announcement of the end-of-season award finalist lists.
James Harden was named a Top 3 finisher for MVP alongside Cleveland’s LeBron James and New Orleans’s Anthony Davis. It would be Harden’s first MVP if he won the award.
Clint Capela had a fantastic season, which led him to consideration for the NBA’s Most Improved Player award. He is nominated alongside Pacers All-Star Victor Oladipo and Nets breakout star Spencer Dinwiddie.
Eric Gordon is looking to repeat as the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year. This year, he faces stiff comoetition in Toronto’s Fred VanVleet and former Rocket and current Clipper Lou Williams.
The noticeable absence from these lists is Mike D’Antoni, who did not finish in the Top 3 for Coach of the Year. Toronto’s Dwane Casey, Boston’s Brad Stevens and Utah’s Quin Snyder made the shortlist.
Which of these Rockets will end up securing the trophy?
