Houston Rockets vs. Memphis Grizzlies game preview

NBA: Houston Rockets at Memphis Grizzlies Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

After blowing another late lead against the Orlando Magic, the Rockets head back home on the second night of a back-to-back to face the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies haven’t been doing great lately, so this will be the perfect opportunity for them to make every shot.

When these teams last met in Houston a few weeks ago, James Harden scored 43 points and had a triple double. Of course, the story afterwards was that he took 27 free throws. If you’re a Rockets fan, each of those fouls was legitimate and if Memphis had a problem, they should have stopped fouling him. If you’re a Memphis fan, Harden was getting superstar calls for touch fouls and head-snapping and all the other stuff he does. We’ll see how Memphis defends Harden tonight, and if he can bust out of his slump.

As talking heads like to remind us, it’s a make-or-miss league. I think the talking heads are pretty stupid most of the time. But on this they’re right. Sometimes, it really is that simple.

Houston needs Eric Gordon and Chris Paul back.

Tip-off is at 7pm CT
