This month, Harden simply was an animal, posting 36.6 points per game in 15 games this month. In those 15 games, the Rockets went 11-4, moving from 14th in the Western Conference to a tie for 4th.
Harden saw a spike in his 3-point percentage, as he shot 41.3 percent from downtown compared to a 34.7 percent mark in November. He also saw an increase in his free throw attempts and makes. Harden made 10.8 free throws per game on 12.4 attempts. He finds a way to get to the line, which explains why he is 4.6 points per game ahead of everyone in the league at this point.
The Player of the Month Award is Harden’s sixth of his career, matching Hakeem Olajuwon for the most in Rockets history.
Hopefully Harden can take his masterful play with him into the new year.
