FanPulse results: Luka an MVP? And a special Rockets question

This week’s results are here!

NBA: Dallas Mavericks at Houston Rockets Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

This weeks’ FanPulse results are in, and we have a series of intriguing questions for you, including our first individualized Rockets-related poll. First up is our national poll, which tried to gauge the full effect of Lukamania.

These are pretty shocking results to me, and I was firmly in the “no” camp personally. Not because I don’t respect what Luka is doing, but mostly because it’s been just a quarter of a year of a previously non-established star. When was the last time you saw a “breakout” player win the award in their very first MVP-caliber year? It simply hasn’t happened. He’ll be a candidate for years to come, but I don’t think he’s quite there yet.

Just an opinion, so relax, you Lukamaniacs out there.

Next, we asked our first Rockets-specific question of the season, and with yet another officiating controversy adversely affecting the Rockets (honestly, when was the last time a major officiating controversy helped Houston), we thought it was the perfect time to ask this one:

And the yes’s come in with 53 percent of the vote. Even though I voted yes, this is probably pretty representative of the group with such a polarizing topic.

And as usual, we have our fan confidence survey, which has stayed high this week, though I have a feeling it might be a little more tenuous after the loss to the Sacramento Kings and needing a Harden supernova to get past the Cleveland Cavaliers.
