Houston Rockets vs. Sacramento Kings game preview

Last Monday, the Rockets had an opportunity to exact some revenge against the San Antonio Spurs for an overtime loss that they felt cheated out of winning. Tonight, they get a chance to avenge a loss to the Sacramento Kings after Nemanja Bjelica hit a buzzer-beater to knock off the Rockets at Toyota Center.

The Kings are 2-4 since that game, but Sacramento is also working to get De’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley III reintegrated into the squad after both returned from lengthy injury stints. Neither played in the previous matchup between these teams. It might take some time to find their groove, but the Kings absolutely have the talent to make a push into the playoff spots in the West.

The Rockets are now halfway through this four-game road swing and are 2-0. If the Rockets can complete the road trip at 4-0, they can start thinking about moving up in the standings in the West.

Houston will be hoping to see more of the same from Russell Westbrook, who’s finally been playing at the level that they were hoping to see when they traded away Chris Paul and a treasure trove of draft picks for him. If he’s able to play at this recent level moving forward and carry the water when James Harden sits, the Rockets can dream of winning games after April.

Tip-off is at 9pm CT
