Rockets at Lakers Gamethread

Lebron “Activates Playoff Intensity”, whatever that means.

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Houston Rockets
Capela returns.
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

After six-hundred days off for the All Star Break* the NBA at last returns to action tonight, with a large slate of games. The featured second TNT game is the Rockets at the Lakers.

The Rockets are attempting to move up the bracket in a crowded Western Conference playoff picture, with the team (almost, never quite, Iman Shumpert is out with a sore knee) at full health. Clint Capela returns tonight for the Rockets, after missing 15 games.

The Lakers are trying to preserve their playoff lives, after their power move to attempt to get Anthony Davis and Lebron James to play the rest of the season 2 on 5 failed.

The Lakers are currently in 10th place in the Western Conference. You’d think a season adding Lebron James, but missing the playoffs, would not sit well in Los Angeles.

Tonight’s ref is Tim Donaghy protege Scott Foster. His recent history reffing Rockets losses is...extraordinary. You can read about Foster’s felonious sensei here.

No. The Activation, while awesome, isn’t enough to drag this team up the standings.
