Rockets Look To Continue Winning Ways In Atlanta

NBA: Atlanta Hawks at Orlando Magic
Perhaps not a bust?
Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Rockets have been rolling lately, winning 11 of their last 12 games. The team seems mostly healthy, with a “rest rotation” of players beginning in preparation for the playoffs.

So far Chris Paul, Austin Rivers and Kenneth Faried have had days off. Tonight Iman Shumpert and Nene will apparently rest.

James Harden will not rest, because essentially he refuses to do so. James Harden is of course the Rockets main player. While we’d all like to recall some sort of team sports days of yore when coaches decided and players simply went along with the decision, that sort of calculus changes when you have a reigning MVP notching a top five all time offensive season. Harden has an outside chance to surpass 2800 points, which is close to the pinnacle of offensive production. The top seems to be around 3000 points, but that seems unlikely.

In any case, Mike D’Antoni proposes to only play Harden around 34 minutes tonight.
