After wins from Denver and Portland on Wednesday night, the Rockets finished fourth place in the Western Conference final standings.
The Rockets had the 2 seed in their grasp, but it fell through their fingers after losing to the Thunder by a single point last night.
The fourth place designation earns the Rockets a date with the Utah Jazz in the first round, a rematch from last year’s Western Conference Semifinals.
The Rockets and Jazz split their season series, with each team winning and losing a game in each building.
The Jazz won the first two meetings, one in October, and the other in early December. The Rockets were far from the team they are now.
The Rockets took home contests in late December and early February, a 27-point win for the Rockets.
