Playoff night game thread

It should be a fun night even though the Rockets are off.

NBA: Playoffs-Los Angeles Clippers at Golden State Warriors Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Rockets are taking the night off from spanking the Utah Jazz, and as anyone who has read my stuff these last four years at TDS knows, there’s nothing that makes me happier than kicking the stuffing out of those guys. So despite the disappointment at not getting to witness another blowout, that doesn’t mean there’s not quality NBA action happening tonight.

In the first game of the night, the Philadelphia 76ers take on the Brooklyn Nets in New York in a series that’s surprisingly tied at 1-1. That’s at 7pm CST on TNT.

The second game of the night has the Denver Nuggets travelling to San Antonio to battle the Spurs in another tied-up series. The Nuggets have always looked like a paper tiger to me, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this was your first-round upset. This one’s on NBAtv starting at 8:00pm CST.

The last game of the night is the Golden State Warriors heading to Staples to take on the Los Angeles Clippers. Honestly, if we can’t watch the Rockets beat the snot out of the Jazz, at the very least, we can see Patrick Beverley punking Kevin Durant. Even if the Dubs win this series (which they are going to), Pat Bev squeezing the Charmin otherwise known as KD is must-see viewing indeed. These guys get tipping at 9:30pm CST, and for me personally, this is the one I’ll be watching.

I don’t have a “Go Rockets” for you tonight, but I do have a “Go Pat Bev!”
