Rockets at Jazz Gamethread

First Round, Game Three

The first two games lacked drama. Facing a possible 3-0 deficit, the Jazz are fighting for their playoff lives in this one. They will be at home in front of what is usually a loud and hostile (if often misguided) crowd in Salt Lake City.

Last game we saw the Jazz run through all five stages of defending James Harden. By the late third quarter they were roving around smacking whatever Rocket was near them, but I’d say the refs kept the game under control. We’ll see if that happens in Utah, where longtime Rockets fans have seen that sort of thing before.

The Rockets have shot well in the series overall, and their depth has weighed on Utah. That might not be the case tonight, as you can expect the Jazz to come out especially fired up.

Utah might well win tonight, because it really is “must win” for them, while the Rockets are comfortable right now. In the end I think, barring any unfortunate events, the Jazz simply lack the shooting on a consistent basis to defeat the Rockets.
