I would be amiss if I talked about anything else regarding tonight’s game.
James Harden is playing basketball for the Houston Rockets tonight. While it would be nice to talk about literally anything else, every single possession with him on the court is going to feel like the most important in the world. And the one after that is going to feel even more important.
This is going to be the first time Harden plays with John Wall — his new sidekick for as long as he wears Houston across his chest — and the rest of Houston’s new lineup. This game, like all the other games until Harden is traded or explicitly says he’s staying, will be examined under the world’s strongest microscope because having a potential contending team probably Houston’s only hope in convincing him to stay.
Every miscue is going to feel like the end of the world. Every well-executed play is going to have fans wondering if it’s enough for him to change his mind. Even worse, there’s always the chance that Harden is completely incredible (as he always is) and makes it even harder to say goodbye.
What I’m saying is: you’ll be watching these games with more dread than usual. And it’s only the beginning, folks.
What do you want to see tonight? What do you expect from Wall and Harden? Who do you want to see more of out there tonight? Let us know down below and follow along live all game.
Last, but not least, LET’S GO ROCKETS!
(Oh, and they play the San Antonio Spurs tonight. I guess that’s also important.)
