The Rockets play their third game of the season, their traditional New Years Eve at home, though not with the traditional rival of the Mavericks or Spurs. There will be a limited number of fans in attendance tonight, so it’s a bit like The Old World.

Tonight the Rockets play the Sacramento Kings, who are off to a nice start at 3-1, while the Rockets are looking for their first win of the season.

This is the first time the Rockets will have a (nearly) full complement of players on board. John Wall, Boogie Cousins, Eric Gordon and Mason Jones will all be available tonight. Ben McLemore and Kenyon Martin Jr remain in quarantine with COVID-19.

It will be nice to see some deeper roster players move down the usage charts tonight, as Wall, Cousins and Gordon take on those roles. It will also be nice to not see Bruno Caboclo attempt to guard accomplished NBA centers.

Coach Stephen Silas mentioned in his news conference that he will likely run some lineups that feature Cousins at center, and Wood at power forward. That could have been handy in Denver, and Portland, but we should see it tonight.

NOTE - The Game Recap will be delayed somewhat tonight, it’s coming, but not immediately post game.
