Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon left Tuesday night’s scrimmage against the Boston Celtics after suffering an apparent left ankle injury.

Late in the second quarter, Gordon went down after stepping on Celtics center Vincent Poirier’s foot and appearing to hurt his left ankle. Gordon had to be helped off the court with the aid of some teammates, appearing to put minimal pressure on his legs.

He would not return to the game.

It was later reported that Gordon received an X-Ray on his left ankle just moments after leaving.

Gordon missed significant time during the 2020 regular season due to a right knee injury that required surgery.

Update 7/28/20 9:32 CST:

Eric Gordon’s X-Ray on his left ankle reportedly came back negative. Head coach Mike D’Antoni said he expects Gordon to be out “a few days.”
