Latest Rockets coaching search odds with Doc Rivers now in the mix

Two weeks ago, we posted some odds for the Houston Rockets and their search for a head coach, but a lot has changed since then, including new candidates in the mix, namely Doc Rivers, former head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers, in addition to the ascension of former Rivers assistant and ex-Rockets player Sam Cassell as the top favorite. As you can see, Cassell is now in the lead, surpassing Tyronn Lue, the favorite from two weeks ago and another former Rivers assistant, who has now dropped into second place. The newly available Rivers currently comes in third, tied with Nate McMillan, while Jeff Van Gundy, who’s been linked to the team earlier this offseason, is currently fifth in odds.

After that, it’s mostly a mishmash of coaches I don’t think stand much of a chance, so the focus should really been on the top five names, or potentially some dark horse not listed here.

Where are you at right now, guys, with Doc in the mix? From my view, it appears Rockets fans are pretty split, with some feeling strongly he’d be a catch, with others feeling very strongly that he’d be a disaster.
